Service Warranty Policy
Great Lakes Power Service Co., (GLPSCO) warrants its service and repairs to be free from defects in the materials GLPSCO supplies and/or the workmanship GLPSCO performs for a period of six (6) months from the date of shipment or installation or 1,000 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
In the event any material or workmanship proves to be defective, within the warranty period and within the terms and conditions that follows, GLPSCO will at its sole option, replace or repair said component/unit at the repair facility authorized by GLPSCO. This express warranty covers normal labor and parts required to repair or replace the failed unit.
Limitations and Exclusions
This express warranty is the only warranty made by GLPSCO for service it performs. No other warranties, express or implied, including warranties as to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are made by GLPSCO. Under no circumstances shall GLPSCO be liable for any incidental, contingent or consequential damages or costs resulting from a warrantable failure including but not limited to any costs or losses of revenue by a customer whatsoever due to downtime or the unavailability of a replacement unit and costs incurred by the customers which have not been communicated in writing and approved by GLPSCO at its sole discretion. GLPSCO further makes no warranty as to any item that has been mishandled, including storage, improperly installed, misapplied, contaminated, abused or otherwise improperly operated according to the OEM's operating specifications, including but not limited to, failure to use approved fluids, follow proper lubrication procedures or to follow the OEM's recommended application specifications including the failure of parts not supplied by GLPSCO.
GLPSCO shall not be obligated to perform repair service under any of the aforementioned warranties unless the customer properly notifies GLPSCO by phone, wire or mail of said defect and arrangements are made through GLPSCO before proceeding with any repairs. Any customer performing service work on their equipment during any warrantable failure without the direct consent and supervision of GLPSCO shall nullify any expressed warranty offered under this policy. GLPSCO will not consider a warranty repair request unless informed of the failure or malfunction in a timely manner. GLPSCO must be given the opportunity to correct the failure or malfunction prior to the unit's removal by the Customer unless instructed by GLPSCO.
Notwithstanding the above, GLPSCO shall have no obligation to perform repair services under any of the aforementioned warranties unless and until GLPSCO has been paid in full for all new or rebuilt components/units, for all removal and re-installation charges, and for all other goods and services originally invoiced by GLPSCO to its customer.
Cancellation By Customer
Under the terms and conditions of this express warranty, once GLPSCO begins any repair service on behalf of the Customer's failed unit, such repair service may NOT be canceled by Customer so long as GLPSCO is making a reasonable effort to comply with their warranty obligation. In the event Customer voluntarily cancels, under any circumstance, GLPSCO's ability to continue its efforts to resolve the failure, Customer shall be liable to GLPSCO for all costs incurred prior to cancellation.
